Jane Edgren

Ms. Edgren, developed and launched a new concert series designed to introduce audiences to many different genres of music in an informal and informative atmosphere.  The first concert, "A World Songbook," included innovative video translations projected onto large screens during the performance.

She was also the artistic director and performed in a series of concerts entitled Expressions of Faith, which presented solo and small ensemble pieces from major choral works.

BIOGRAPHY
OPERA, ORATORIO AND RECITAL

Jane Edgren, lyric spinto soprano, has performed the leading soprano roles of Violetta in La Traviata, Leonora in Il Trovatore, and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus.

She has appeared as a soprano soloist in concert with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra in Rachmaninoff's The Bells, Mozart's Coronation Mass, and the opera Der Freischütz.

Her private vocal and opera studies in New York City have included work with voice teacher Maria Farnworth, vocal coaching with Benton Hess, Julie Kuipers, Stephen Sulich and Lloyd Ariola,  acting with Jay Lesenger, as well as classes and seminars at both the Juillard School and at the Manhattan School of Music.

A graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance, she participated in Master's level courses in vocal pedagogy,oratorio and interpretation of song, during her Senior year, as well as language study in French, German and Italian.
